Trekking lovers will love them. Let yourself be enchanted by the Pitrisconi Waterfalls and some of the most fascinating viewpoints of our territory. Here’s everything you need to know and how to get there.

First of all, you need to reach the hamlet of Straulas, just outside San Teodoro, up to the naturalistic area of Monte Nieddu, from where the various trekking routes branch off. Those that lead to admire the waterfalls and natural pools start from the Stazzo Pitrisconi. From here you can choose two trails: one of 5.2 kilometers that leads directly to the pools and waterfalls, and a second, of 6.6 kilometers, which arrives at the Punta that dominates Monte Nieddu.

They are both routes for experienced hikers and with an elevation gain of over 550 meters. They must be tackled by keeping the whole day free (it will take about 4 hours, not counting the stops) and using hiking shoes and sportswear. It is better not to weigh down your backpack too much, where, however, at least two liters of water should not be missing.

The first path, a loop, involves fording the river and then reaching a wonderful natural pool and, immediately after, you will encounter the first beautiful waterfalls of Pitrisconi. But that’s not all. From here you can take another path, which will lead to other natural pools and waterfalls, of even greater visual impact. And finally, you will reach one of the panoramic points that will allow you to admire all the pools in the area.

The second, on the other hand, is the one that leads to Punta Casteddacciu and, subsequently, to several other panoramic points, from which you can admire the sea and wonderful views of San Teodoro, Tavolara, the coasts and beaches of the area.
